Does anyone ever really win and iPod?
You see the banner ads flashing on the top of the webpage, "Win an iPod". You've probably wondered what the catch is, and if anyone actually wins those things. The bad news is that most of the flashing "click here" ads promising you a free iPod aren't going to give you anything more then a headache. Often in order to qualify to receive the iPod you must order products and get your friends and family to sign up too, and by the time you figure out how much you've spent you could have just bought one yourself.
The good news is that there are many reputable companies that do give away iPods as sweepstakes prizes. You just need to be on the lookout for them. Lots of companies will have giveaways to try and get attention for their products. So how do you tell the real ones from the fakes? Only enter contests from reputable companies, ones who have names that you recognize. A reputable sweepstakes will not ask you for money or to buy anything in order to be eligible to win. And if anyone is asking you to pay for taxes or fees in order to receive your prize then it is likely a scam. If you aren't feeling lucky then why not buy an iPod from us, where you can be sure that you're getting a great product at a low price.

You do have to be careful with those websites that offer free iPods. I have heard some are reputable and do in fact give out free ipods but as you mentioned you have to complete offers and get others to as well.
It's just too much of a hassle for me to even bother trying that out. Who knows how long it would take to find enough people to do it as well.
If you have a job you should just treat yourself to an iPod if you want one that bad,
I am very cynical about anything that claims to give away something for nothing. It's usually the latest big thing - ipod, Xbox360 etc.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for in this world, and if something seems too good to be true it generally is :)
