Videos for the iPod

In the fifth generation iPod, Apple added video capabilities, which was a long awaited step for the world’s most popular music player. But with change Apple needed to come up with a way that people could manage the video content. Thus came iTunes, allowing people to download and add video to their iPod.

Now that you can buy movies from the iTunes store and sync them to your iPod, you will have to consider the facts that come with downloading or self ripped music. This is that these videos do not always arrive properly labeled, so you will have to do that yourself.

Importing video files to your iPod should be simple but that is not always the case. Honestly the iPod plays only a limited number of types of video files, so conversion is sometimes necessary before you can play a video.

Do not fret over this because there are tools you can use to convert your favorite videos to be played on the iPod.

That's the only drawback of the iPod - you can't play all types of video files. I know why Apple would want to do this but I don't really like it.

Sure you an convert the files but why should you even have to bother. Apple shuld make the iPod compatible with all file types.

I'm not a big fan of watching videos on my ipod. At the end of the day the screen is far too small to be practical - just like the screen on mobile phones.
I'll stick to listening to music on my ipod, and watching films in 42 inch widescreen :)
