1.      Download the most recent iPod Software Updater for your iPod model, and bring up to date your iPod software.

2.      Then Open iTunes.

3.      Place in an audio CD that includes average length songs (3 to 8 minutes), and import songs into your iTunes library using the MP3 Encoder set at 160 kbps, or the AAC Encoder set at 128 kbps.

4.      Fully charge your iPod by linking it to the Apple iPod Power Adapter, or to your computer's FireWire or USB port using the wire that came with iPod.

5.      Once it is completely charged, connect your iPod to your computer (if it is not previously) and bring up to date it with the album you just imported into iTunes.

6.      Cast out or eject the iPod.

7.      Separate the FireWire or USB cable from iPod.

8.      For iPod shuffle:

a.       Turn iPod shuffle on by choosing either play list mode or shuffle mode.

b.      Press the Play button to play the album constantly until the iPod battery depleted.

For all other iPod models:

c.       From the main menu, select Settings > Repeat and choose the Repeat options until it says all.

d.      Choose Settings > Backlight Timer, then select Off.

e.       Choose Settings > EQ, then select Off.

f.       Choose the album you imported in the step 3, pick any song, and then press the Play button. The album should play continually until the iPod battery depleted.

9.      Just note the time you first began playing a song on your iPod. If when your battery depletes and iPod stops playing, you should jot down that time too.
